MARS HILL, N.C. – The Young Harris College baseball team saw its seven-game win streak snapped on Monday afternoon as the Mountain Lions fell, 4-3, to Mars Hill College at Henderson Field.

Mars Hill (23-26) broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the second inning with a run on three hits, but Young Harris (26-21) tied the game at 1 with a run in the third as Mike Medori walked and stole second. He advanced to third on a fly out by Adam Moore and scored on a sacrifice fly by Tommy Ferguson.

The Lions captured a 3-1 advantage with a pair of runs on one hit and took advantage of two errors in the bottom of the third, but back came the Mountain Lions in the top half of the fourth, tying the game at 3.

With one out, Evan Carr, who was 3-for-4, singled through the right side to score Atwood. Zach Bricknell, who had a pair of hits, ripped a two-out triple to right, plating Carr.

Mars Hill responded with a run in the bottom of the fourth to break the 3-all tie and take a 4-3 advantage.

In the top of the eighth, the Mountain Lions loaded the bases with one out and came away with no runs as Mars Hill retired the next two batters on strikeouts.
