BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. – The Young Harris College men's golf team swept the individual and team titles at the Mountain Lion Invitational Monday (Oct. 17) afternoon at the Old Union Golf Course.
The Mountain Lions shot 310 on the par 72 layout to defeat Truett-McConnell College by 10 strokes as Chase Hankla earned medalist honors with a 73.
Matthew Peeler finished as runner up as he registered a 75 while Cameron Medina finished tied for fifth place with a 79. Caleb Kelley came in a tie for ninth place with an 83 followed by Jesse Brock (84, tied 12th), Travis McAllister (85, tied 14th) and Alex Hood (95, 25th).
Young Harris fielded a "B" squad in the four-team tournament. The "B" team finished in fourth place with a score of 344. Gage Killian tied for ninth place overall with an 83 followed by Parker Hulme (84, tied 12th), Evan Jordan (88, 19th), Tyler Winn (89, tied 20th) and Conner York (94, 24th).
The tournament was the final one of the fall season for the Mountain Lions, who will return to the links Feb. 13 when they travel to Sea Island, Ga., for the Coastal Georgia Invitational.
