ROME, Ga. – The Young Harris College men’s golf team competed in the final round of the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational hosted by Berry College Tuesday (Oct. 4) afternoon.
The Mountain Lions finished 16th in the 19-team event that was played at the Coosa Country Club with a 36-hole score of 638 after a 322 on the final day.
Matthew Peeler had the best finish for the Mountain Lions in the tournament, coming in a tie for 50th place at 155 after carding a 75 on the par 72, 6,924-yard layout. Cameron Medina tied for 57th at 156 after an 82 while Chase Hankla placed 93rd at 163 after an 83. Caleb Kelley shot an 82 and finished in a tie for 94th place at 164 while Jesse Brock registered an 87 and came in 113th at 174.
Lee University won the tournament with a 36-hole score of 572 while the Flames’ Matt Emery earned medalist honors with a tally of 136.
Young Harris wraps up its fall season when they host the Mountain Lions Invitational Oct. 17 in Blairsville, Ga.
