Young Harris College Athletics

Annalise Malone played a pivotal role in propelling the Mountain Lions women's basketball team to back-to-back wins this week, further cementing their strong start to the season. 

On Wednesday (Dec. 4) evening, Malone was instrumental in Young Harris' 67-54 road victory against Emmanuel University. The senior guard finished with 19 points, seven rebounds, two steals while shooting an efficient 4-of-5 from long-range. Her leadership and scoring ability were on full display, helping the team stay in control throughout the game. 

Malone followed up with another dominant performance on Saturday (Dec. 7) afternoon, as the Mountain Lions overpowered the Flying Fleet of Erskine College in the Enchanted Valley, cruising to a 68-36 victory. She stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, five rebounds, one block, and one steal. Malone's defensive tenacity and offensive versatility were instrumental in securing another decisive win for Young Harris. The Mountain Lions held Erskine to 22.6% shooting on FG's and virtually turned off the Flying Fleet's three-point brigade, holding them to just 3-26 from long-range. 

The women's team continues to shine, improving their record to 6-3 (3-1 Conference Carolinas) as they build momentum heading into the heart of their schedule.
