Sam Scoba begins his third season as an assistant coach for the Young Harris College men's lacrosse program.

During the 2025 campaign, the Mountain Lions finished 6-9. Scoba helped lead this group to several milestones and accolades, as four athletes were placed on the Conference Carolinas All-Conference teams (Ben Soenen - First, Kieran Isbister - First, Hunter Stagg - Second and Grady Stokes - Second). Additionally, senior Tommy Chriszt became the all-time points and assist leader of the program. Senior Ben Soenen slid into the top of the leader board for caused turnovers and caused turnovers per game. Senior goaltender Dylan Wilbur is now the career leader in saves, saves per game and minutes played for goaltenders. 

Continuing the program's growth, Scoba helped lead the Mountain Lions in 2024 to double the amount of wins the program had in 2023. There has been consistent growth of the program since Scoba was added to the coaching staff. 

Scoba has previously worked as Saint Leo University as an assistant coach for two seasons in Saint Leo, Florida. Prior to his time on the Saint Leo sidelines, Scoba spent two seasons at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, as the Yeomen's offensive coordinator. Prior to his time at Oberlin, Scoba served as an assistant at Westborough High School.

He played college lacrosse at Dean College and Endicott College. As a senior at Endicott, Scoba was a member of the 2015 Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship team. He also was named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-Academic team and received the Commonwealth Academic award.
 
While at Endicott College he earned a bachelor's degree from the Curtis L. Gerrish School of Business in Entrepreneurship in 2015.
