Josh Singleton begins his second season as assistant coach for the Young Harris Men's Lacrosse team.
Shingleton served as the offensive coordinator this past season that led the Mountain Lions to 13 straight victories and the inaugural Great Lakes Valley Conference regular season title and to the conference tournament championship in the 2018 season. The 13 wins in a season are the most ever for Young Harris. The Mountain Lions finished fifth in NCAA Division II in face-off winning percentage, seventh in shot percentage and scoring defense, ninth in assists per game, 11th in scoring margin and winning percentage, 12th in points per game, 14th in scoring offense, and 24th in ground balls. Three of the four Mountain Lions' losses came to nationally ranked programs – Saint Leo university, Lenoir-Rhyne University, and Lindenwood University. The Mountain Lions also led the conference in postseason accolades which were highlighted by 13 All-Conference nominees, Player of the Year, Specialist of the Year, and Coach of the Year.
The North Carolina, native attended Lees-McRae College where he studied Communications and was a four-year starting attackman. Shingleton earned Lacrosse Magazine’s Player of the Week Honor for the Bobcats and helped guide his team to the best records in the history of the program.
After Lees-McRae College, Shingleton served as the head coach at Gulf Breeze High School (Gulf Breeze, FL) where he led the Dolphins (16-2) to the District Finals in 2017. Shingleton has also worked extensively with the Pensacola Lacrosse Association for the Youth as well as coaching and working with numerous club teams in the Southeast.
Shingleton graduated from Great Oak High School (Temecula, CA) in 2008 where he played lacrosse and was team captain his junior and senior year.
