YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College Cross Country and Track & Field programs are proud to announce the hiring of Dylan Dicicco as Assistant Coach, Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Matt Logan announced.
Head coach Matt Logan said, "I'm glad to have Coach DiCicco back in the program. His steady leadership and work ethic made a big difference when he was a captain two years ago and it will make a big difference as a coach. He bears some responsibility for our blue-collar team identity and our competitive growth. I'm excited to journey alongside him now that we are both on the same side of the stopwatch."
Dicicco, a native of Murphy, North Carolina, is a 2023 graduate of Young Harris College, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Outdoor Studies. He began his collegiate running career at Brevard College, competing for 1.5 years on the NCAA Division III Cross Country and Track teams before transferring to Young Harris to complete his undergraduate degree. During his senior season, Dicicco ran under Coach Logan, now his colleague, and developed a deep appreciation for the program's evolving culture and competitive spirit.
"I am incredibly honored and grateful for this opportunity to come back to the Enchanted Valley!" said Dicicco. "I look forward to working alongside Coach Logan and continuing to build the XC and Track program. Coach Logan was brought on during my junior year at Young Harris, and I quickly came to respect his passion and intensity surrounding the sport. The lessons I learned and friendships I made while attending Young Harris will stick with me for life. I hope to be able to share my experience with these athletes and in turn help to create amazing experiences for them as well. I of course am passionate about running, but more so I want to see our athletes thrive and flourish in everything that they do. It's about building a culture, healthy habits, and a lifestyle. There can be trophies and medals, but the greatest tangible reward of being a student-athlete is how your experience is manifested in everyday life. That's what I hope to shed some light on as I step into this new role. I truly appreciate Coach Logan and the rest of the Athletics staff for giving me this opportunity and trusting that I can make a positive change at YHC! It's not only good to be back, it is good to be home!"
A student-athlete from 2013 to 2023, Dicicco brings a decade of competitive running experience and a strong understanding of the Mountain Lion program. His journey has been marked by academic excellence, earning Dean's List honors, and personal achievement; including completing a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail in August 2025, a testament to his endurance, discipline, and love for the outdoors.
While this marks Dicicco's first collegiate coaching role, his leadership experience spans multiple industries, including outdoor adventure, customer service, and team management. His diverse background and passion for mentorship position him to make an immediate impact on the program and its student-athletes.
