Calvin Walker begins his second season as an assistant coach for the Young Harris College men's basketball program.
  
Walker comes to the Enchanted Valley after spending the last three seasons on the bench at David Crockett High School in Jonesborough, Tennessee, under coach John Good. While at David Crockett, Walker oversaw player development for the varsity team and helped to produce back-to-back Big 7 Conference Players of the Year in Patrick Good (East Tennessee State University), and Josh Releford (Florida Southern College). Walker worked full time at David Crockett High School as an instructional assistant. Walker has a proven track record in developing players. In addition to working with Good and Releford, he has trained professional players from the National Basketball League in Canada, and professional basketball players from England and Australia.
 
Before his time at David Crockett High school, Walker played collegiately at NCAA Division II King (Tenn.) University for legendary head coach George Pitts. As a two-year captain, Walker helped lead the Tornados to unprecedented success when they received their highest national ranking - seventh in NABC Poll - in school history. King won the Conference Carolinas regular season and tournament championships, and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament. As a senior, Walker led the Conference Carolinas and was ranked second nationally with an assist to turnover ratio of 3.51, was 24th in the country with 158 total assists and 44th with an average of 4.9 assists per game, ranked 44th in the country and second in Conference Carolinas with 54 steals.
 
Walker graduated from King in 2016 with his bachelor's degree in business with a specialization in sport management and a minor in coaching. Walker holds a Sport Specific Strength Training Certification with the American Sports & Fitness Association.
