SPARTANBURG, S.C. | The Young Harris College women's basketball team delivered a dominant road performance Wednesday evening, defeating Converse 98-67 inside Tom & Tracy Hannah Gym. The Mountain Lions improved to 21-7 overall and 15-5 in Conference Carolinas with the win.
Young Harris set the tone early, building a double-digit lead after the first quarter (22-12) and extending the margin to 24 points at halftime. The Mountain Lions erupted for 30 points in the third quarter to fully separate and cruise to the 31-point victory.
Annalise Malone led the offensive effort with 24 points on an efficient 10-of-13 shooting, including 4-of-5 from three-point range. Rhiannon Saller added 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting while Kamryn Bates finished with 14 points and five assists. Chassidy Fedd contributed 13 points and six rebounds, and Katia Nekic scored 12 points while going 4-for-5 from beyond the arc.
Young Harris shot 59.7 percent from the field and 60.0 percent from three while dishing out 24 assists and winning the rebounding battle 46-29. The Mountain Lions also received strong bench production, totaling 38 bench points.
