YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College women's tennis standout Futaba Saito has been named Conference Carolinas Player of the Week after a strong performance at the No. 1 position across three matches for the Mountain Lions.

Saito finished the week with a 5-1 overall record, posting a 2-1 mark at No. 1 singles and a perfect 3-0 record at No. 1 doubles while helping Young Harris go 1-2 as a team.

In doubles play, Saito remained unbeaten alongside her partner, earning victories over Tusculum's Landa and Kotemanova (6-3), Lincoln Memorial's Ortiz and Rodriguez (6-1), and Carson-Newman's Baackee and Sardan (7-5).

At No. 1 singles, Saito recorded two key wins. She opened the week with a comeback victory over Tusculum's Kotemanova, winning 5-7, 6-3, 10-6, before adding a straight-sets win against Lincoln Memorial's Ramonet, 6-1, 6-4.

Saito's undefeated doubles performance and two singles victories at the top of the lineup highlighted a productive week for the Mountain Lions' No. 1.
