Mountain Lions fall just short to Trevecca Nazarene

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Mountain Lions women's soccer team played their second game of the 2025 season with a 1-0 loss over Trevecca Nazarene University on Saturday (Sept. 6) afternoon in Nashville, Tennessee. The match got underway at 1:00 p.m.; the Mountain Lions fought hard but left the Trevecca Soccer Complex with their first loss of the season.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:  

  • The first half ended with no goals scored, while the Trojans outshot the Mountain Lions 6-4, with Freshman Goalkeeper Clara Williams saving 8 out of 9 shots on goal.  

  • The second half was a continuation of the stat sheet from the first half, with Trevecca out-shooting YH 12-4. 

  • Siara Moore started the game playing a total of 47 minutes and had two shots against Trevecca's goalkeeper, Bailie Fiore. 

  • Within twenty minutes of the second half, Freshman Midfield Scarlett Hirschy was substituted in and had 2 shots against Trevecca's goalkeeper, with one shot on goal.  

  • Darfur Martinez and Kenna Bothe applied pressure to Trevecca's goalkeeper both taking a shot on goal early in the first (Bothe) and second half (Darfur). 

  • Trevecca outshot Young Harris, 18-8, while having a 3-9 deficit of shots on goal.  

  • Despite the loss, the Mountain Lions also remained calm, winning the foul battle by only drawing 4 fouls total throughout the entire game.  

  • Newcomers Charlotte Brown and Aslaug Bratheim each came in as substitutes and applied some pressure both tallying a shot. Brown in the second half, and Bratheim in the first half. 

UP NEXT: 

Young Harris Women's Soccer will return to action on Wednesday (Sept. 10) afternoon against the Nighthawks of the University of North Georgia for the Battle of Blood Mountain. This will be the home opener of the season for Young Harris Women's Soccer.
