YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's soccer team hosted the University of North Georgia on Wednesday (Sept. 10) afternoon for the annual Battle of Blood Mountain, falling 3-0 to the Nighthawks at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• North Georgia opened the scoring early in the first half, with Nina Lopez finding the back of the net in the 3rd minute, assisted by Bailey Oetinger and Chloe Diaz. 

• The Mountain Lions held the Nighthawks scoreless for the remainder of the first half. Freshman goalkeeper Clara Williams recorded three saves in the opening 45 minutes. 

• UNG extended their lead in the second half when Bailey Oetinger scored in the 57th minute, assisted by Blanca Cruz. Sarah Woodall sealed the win for the Nighthawks with a goal in the 84th minute. 

• Young Harris finished with three shots and one shot on goal. Darfur Martinez led the Mountain Lions with one shot on goal, while Carolina Gutierrez and Emily Brennaman each added a shot. 

• Clara Williams played all 90 minutes in goal for YHC, finishing with five saves on eight shots on goal. 

• North Georgia outshot Young Harris 17-3 and held a 9-4 advantage in corner kicks. 

• Charlotte Brown and Aslaug Bratheim came off the bench and contributed defensively, while Scarlett Hirschy logged 53 minutes in the midfield.
