YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris Mountain Lions took down the Ferrum Panthers 3-0 at the Harp Recreation and Commencement Center (Sept 19th). The Mountain Lions got big time performances from Abby Schirm and Lyza Thigpen to capture the victory.

The Mountain Lions advance to 4-6 overall and are 1-1 in Conference Carolinas. The Panthers move to 2-4 overall and are 0-2 in Conference Carolinas.  

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Abby Schirm led the way for the Mountain Lions with a game high 15 kills.  

• YH collected 40 assists on the night, 33 of those came from Lyza Thigpen (19) and Linsey Burke (14).  

• Young Harris went on a huge 7-0 run in the 1st set to extend their lead to 15-6 and never looked back from there. 

• Lexie Martin had a game high 16 digs for YH.  

• This was the first sweep of the season for the Mountain Lions as they look to catch momentum heading into the thick of conference play.  

• Ferrum was led by Catherine Bennett's 10 kills.

The Mountain Lions hit the road this Wednesday, September 24th where they will take on Southern Wesleyan at 6PM in a Conference Carolinas matchup.
