YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Mountain Lions returned home Tuesday evening for the first-ever Roar War matchup, hosting Emmanuel University at The Harp Recreation & Commencement Center. Despite a strong start, Young Harris fell in straight sets (25-20, 25-15, 25-13) to the visiting Lions, opening Conference Carolinas play with a 0-1 mark (3-6 overall). 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

Emmanuel's offense proved efficient, hitting .246 across three sets. The Mountain Lions battled early, fighting hard and keeping the first set close before Emmanuel pulled away late. 

Key performers for Young Harris included:

• Abby Schirm led the team with 9 kills and added 11 digs. 

• Mary Margaret Wilson and Kathryn Urbanek chipped in with 5 and 4 kills, respectively. 

• Lyza Thigpen paced the offense with 12 assists and tied Lexie Martin for a team-high 12 digs. 

• Urbanek also contributed defensively with 2 blocks. 

• Emmanuel was led by Natalie Wilson (12 kills) and Asia Queen (14 digs, 2 aces), with setter Marusa Pesut dishing out 28 assists.
