YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College men's golfers Will Ranieri and Ruben Lindstrom have been named 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), recognizing their excellence on the course and in the classroom.Â
This marks the second consecutive year Lindstrom has earned the prestigious honor. He led the way for the Mountain Lions, the team's third event this past spring, carding rounds of 75 (+3), 74 (+2), and a stellar 69 (-3) in the final round to secure a 12th-place individual finish at 218 (+2).Â
Ranieri adds the accolade to a standout senior season that also saw him named to the Conference Carolinas All-Conference Team. His spring campaign was highlighted by a sixth-place finish at the Music City Invitational, where he opened with a career-best 66 (-4) and finished at 207 (-3) overall. He also posted top 30 finishes at the Bearcat Classic and Conference Carolinas Championship, helping lead the Mountain Lions throughout the season.Â
Lindstrom and Ranieri were among 207 NCAA Division II student-athletes recognized nationwide, representing 78 institutions.Â
To qualify for the honor, student-athletes must meet rigorous academic and athletic standards, including a minimum 3.2 GPA, participation in at least 50% of team rounds, and a stroke average under 78.0. Nominees must also be of high moral character and in good standing with their institution.Â
The recognition reflects the continued growth of the Young Harris men's golf program, both on the course and in the classroom.Â
