Young Harris Swipes Road Win at Francis Marion, 4-3

Closing out their regular season road endeavors for 2025, YH took down the Patriots of Francis Marion with a final score of 4-3 this afternoon (Apr 12th).

Box Score Florence, Sc. | Closing out their regular season road endeavors for 2025, YH took down the Patriots of Francis Marion with a final score of 4-3 this afternoon (Apr 12th). Futaba Saito had a great day, as she won both her singles and doubles match – paired with Simone Mercier. The Mountain Lions look ahead to close the regular season at home against Shorter University on April 16th for their Senior Day. 
 
The Mountain Lions move to 7-14 overall and are 5-4 in Conference Carolinas. The Patriots fall to 6-8 overall and are 4-4 in Conference Carolinas.  
  
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 
·       In the #1 slot, Simone Mercier & Futaba Saito took down FMU's Lara Lanno & Valery Gomez with a final score of 6-3.
·       The Mountain Lions had a collective four singles wins. Taking the victories in two sets were Maud Scholten (6-4, 6-3) and Futaba Saito (6-1, 6-4). Saito dominated in both doubles and singles this morning.
·       Viviana Gomez Lopez and Andreia Semeano edged the Patriots in three. Gomez Lopez proved herself (1-6, 7-5, 6-2), while Semeano came out on top (2-6, 6-2, 6-4). After each dropping the first set, both came through in crunch time. 
 
UP NEXT: The Mountain Lions will prepare for their last regular season match against Shorter University this Wednesday (Apr 16th), for their Senior Day, beginning at 4PM.
