Box Score YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's tennis team put up a strong fight against the University of Mount Olive but fell just short in a 4-3 battle Saturday afternoon at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.
The Mountain Lions (5-12) showed great fight all afternoon long, staying neck and neck with the Trojans.

Young Harris started strong in doubles action, with the No. 1 pairing of Simone Mercier and Futaba Saito delivering a commanding 6-2 victory. Despite their efforts, the Mountain Lions dropped the other two doubles matches, giving Mount Olive the early advantage.
In singles play, Maud Scholten dominated her matchup at the No. 2 spot, cruising to a flawless 6-0, 6-0 victory. Simone Mercier displayed her grit at No. 1, battling through three sets to secure a 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 win. Despite a hard-fought match at No. 3, Viviana Gomez Lopez fell in a tight three-setter, while Futaba Saito also put up a strong fight at No. 4, pushing her opponent in a closely contested contest, earning another point for YH.
The Mountain Lions came up just short as Mount Olive claimed the decisive points in the remaining singles matches.
