WILSON & MURFREESBORO, NC. | Young Harris fell short to the Bulldogs 4-3 and defeated Chowan with a solid 6-1 final score (Mar 14^th/15^th). Singles was a strong area of play for the Mountain Lions this weekend who took home eight victories. 
 
The Mountain Lions move to 4-9 on the 2025 campaign and are 2-2 in Conference Carolinas play. 
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
 
@ Barton College (Mar 14^th)

• The Mountain Lions fell just short to the Bulldogs with a final 4-3 stat line. 
• Simone Mercier and Futaba Saito won the first doubles match 6-3 over Tilde Howeler and Irma Granstam of Barton.
• On the singles side, Maud Scholten (6-2, 6-3), Futaba Saito (6-2, 6-2), and Callie Stanfield (6-7, 7-6, 10-6) each came out with singles victories. 

 
@ Chowan University (Mar 15^th)

• YH defeated the Hawks 6-1 in today's matches. 
• The Mountain Lions swept in doubles play. Holly Ashford & Maud Scholten (6-2), Callie Stanfield & Andreia Semeano (7-6, 7-3), and Viviana Gomez Lopez & Isabella Ezeta (6-2) were the winning pairs.
• Each singles match also went the way of the Mountain Lions. Simone Mercier (6-2, 6-2), Viviana Gomez Lopez (6-1, 1-0, 0-0), Futaba Saito (6-0, 0-0, 0-0), Callie Stanfield (6-0, 6-4), & Isabella Ezeta (6-2, 6-0) stayed dominant against the Bulldogs.

 
UP NEXT: The Mountain Lions return to the Enchanted Valley and will play the University of Montevallo and North Greenville University this upcoming week. They will take on the Falcons of UM Tuesday (Mar 18^th) at 1PM and the Trailblazers of NGU (Mar 21^st) at 1PM.
