Kamryn Bates and Carl Cleveland Earn MLOTW Honors

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Kamryn Bates and the Mountain Lions have won two of four games to start the season. In the first two games, a win over GCSU and a loss to UNG, Bates scored 19 points, adding six rebounds, and five assists. In week two, YH won their first game versus Tusculum, in which Bates scored 17 points, picked up four assists, and came down with three boards. In the second game versus UNC Pembroke, Kamryn scored her season-high 18 points, racked up two assists, grabbed two rebounds, and recorded a steal. Altogether, Bates scored 54 points, picked up 11 assists, grabbed 11 boards, and added five steals to boot. The Women's basketball team takes on Emmanuel on Tuesday night, before hosting UVA Wise on Saturday. 

Through the first four games of the season, Carl Cleveland has been the Mountain Lions' top scorer. During the first two games, Cleveland dropped 70 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Taking down Middle Georgia and falling to UNG. In the two losses versus UVA Wise and UNC Pembroke, Carl scored 26 points, grabbed 14 boards, and added two assists. Altogether, through four games, Cleveland has scored 96 points, racked up 27 rebounds, and added a few assists. Young Harris has two games ahead of them this week, starting with Emmanuel in Franklin Springs, before hosting Clayton State this Saturday at The Harp.
