YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College Women's Soccer team closed out the regular season in dominant fashion, earning a 4-0 victory over Shorter University on Saturday (Nov. 1) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
Senior forward Sunny Bowlin-Stacy opened the scoring in the 15th minute, finishing off a pass from Aslaug Bratheim to give the Mountain Lions an early lead. Bowlin-Stacy doubled the advantage in the 30th minute, netting her 10th goal of the season off an assist from Scarlett Hirschy.
Hirschy took over in the second half, scoring twice to seal the win for Young Harris. Her first came in the 70th minute, assisted by Bowlin-Stacy, and she added another in the 81st minute with help from Lauren Gauthier. The goals marked Hirschy's 13th of the season.
With the win, Young Harris improves to 9-5-3 overall and 8-2-3 in Conference Carolinas play, securing the No. 5 seed in the upcoming 2025 Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Tournament. Shorter falls to 1-12-2 overall and 0-11-2 in conference action.
