Banner Elk, NC| The YHC women's tennis team took on the Lees-McRae Bobcats on Monday (March 25th) afternoon. It was a tough match from the start for the Mountain Lions, as Lees-McRae won all three doubles matches and the first five singles matches, before YHC eventually won the last singles match of the day and fell 6-1 to the Bobcats. 

The Mountain Lions dropped to 6-8 overall this season and Lees-McRae advanced to 8-3 overall. Young Harris returns to action on Thursday (March 28th) when they take on Emmanuel University in the afternoon at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex in Young Harris, Georgia. 

INSIDE THE SCORE SHEET:

• The Bobcats took all three doubles matches over Young Harris, winning by scores of (6-4), (6-4), and (6-2). 

• The Mountain Lions battled hard, but suffered defeat in each of the first five singles matches, with Viviana Gomez and Meghna Mallath putting up the best fights before the final singles match.  

• Catarina Marcko Ferreira was the lone victor for the women's team, winning the final singles match of the day (3-6, 6-4, and 10-2).
