Harrogate, Tenn| The Mountain Lions women's tennis team picked up two victories on Sunday (Feb. 4) afternoon, defeating the Railspitters and Cavaliers in back-to-back matches.  

Young Harris took down Lincoln Memorial University 4-3 before recording a 7-0 victory over UVA Wise. 

The Mountain Lions return to action on Friday (Feb. 9) afternoon to face Western Carolina University at 2 p.m. in Cullowhee, N.C. 

INSIDE THE SCORE SHEET: 

• Young Harris picked up two doubles wins against LMU, with the pairings of Simone Mercier and Meghna Mallath, and Luciano Bejarano and Viviana Gomez winning.  

• Mercier, Bejarano, and Gomez each picked up a singles win. 

• The Mountain Lions defeated the Cavaliers from UVA Wise 7-0. 

• Freshman Viviana Gomez recorded two doubles wins and two singles victories.
