Mountain Lions Women’s Basketball Celebrates Homecoming with a Victory

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's basketball team hosted the University of West Alabama Tigers for an exciting homecoming game at The Harp Recreation and Commencement Center in the Enchanted Valley. From start to finish, the Mountain Lions maintained control of the game, never giving up their lead. Parehuia Delamere led the charge for YHC with a stellar performance, scoring 17 points and going 7-for-16 from the field. Thanks to strong efforts from the entire team, the Mountain Lions secured a 68-49 victory, marking a dominant win on their home court.

"I love our hustle and our heart, toughness was great. We did a great job on the glass, which is what we've been emphasizing all year long, so I thought it was a great team win. Everybody shared the ball, and we came out with the right mentality."

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • The Mountain Lions put up 40 points in the first half and kept the same pressure in the second half scoring 28 points.
  • Kamryn Bates scored the second most points with 13 with Chassidy Fedd following with 12 points.
  • Bates, Fedd, Annalise Malone all went perfect from the free throw line going two for two, and Courtney Davis recorded a clean sheet going four for four at the FT line.
  • Lilly Griffith accumulated 10 total rebounds for the Mountain Lions.
  • YHC shot 83.3% (15-18) from the free throw line, while Agnes Scott was 71.4% percent.
  • From the field, Young Harris shot 24-69 (34.8%).
  • The leading scorer for the Tigers was Jordan Parker, with 11 points and four rebounds.
  • YHC scored an impressive 13 second chance points, outrebounding Agnes Scott 46 to 29.
