YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris men's soccer turned up the intensity in the second half of Tuesday night's game to pick up the 2-0 win over Southern Wesleyan.
Jorge Oteiza broke the scoreless tie in the 63
rd minute and with three minutes to go,
Thomas Kleinpenning tacked on the insurance goal.
QUOTING HEAD COACH DEAN GREY:
"The idea was there in the first half, but the product wasn't. We responded well in the second half and found ourselves with longer flows of positive play. Another win and clean sheet at home. We will take a week's rest before we get back at it against Clayton State in a massive region game."
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Jorge Oteiza got free and unleashed a shot which was saved by Luke Bramblett.
- Ivar Nå Aga had consecutive opportunities in the box, but his second shot sailed over the bar.
- Leonardo Flores tested Ian Aycock late in the first half. Flores nailed it to the lower left corner and Ian turned it aside.
- The first half ended level at zero.
- The Mountain Lions broke the scoreless tie in the 63rd minute. YHC earned a free kick and Leho Le Louarn played the ball into the box to Jorge Oteiza, who headed it into the back of the net.
- Thomas Kleinpenning extended the Mountain Lions lead in the 87th minute. Kleinpenning secured the rebound and fired it into the net to give YHC a 2-0 lead and the victory.
- Ian Aycock recorded six saves and earned his fourth shutout of the season.
