Young Harris Battles North Greenville to 1-1 Draw

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris men's soccer battled to a 1-1 draw on Saturday night against North Greenville. The Mountain Lions took the 1-0 lead late in the first half when Leho Le Louarn found Thomas Kleinpenning for the score. North Greenville responded in the second half with the equalizer. Matteo Galeotti headed it past Paplomatas to even the scoreline at one. The frantic final five minutes saw both teams with chances, but neither capitalized, resulting in the tie.

QUOTING HEAD COACH DEAN GREY:
"We controlled the majority of the possession against a well disciplined defensive North Greenville team. We found our way through a number of times, but we weren't clinical, which has hurt us the past couple of weeks. Now we turn our focus to Tuesday, where we have another chance to retain the division against Southern Wesleyan."

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • In the first half, Thomas Kleinpenning fired one into the left corner for his fifth goal of the year to put the Purple and White up 1-0.
  • North Greenville capitalized on a corner kick as Galeotti headed one home to tie it up at one.
  • Young Harris outshot North Greenville 20-10 with 14 shots on goal
  • The Mountain Lions dominated set pieces with nine corners and only allowed one Trailblazer corner kick.
  • Stathis Paplomatas got the start in goal and made five saves.
  • North Greenville's keeper, Ricardo Marques, recorded 13 saves in the match.
