YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's soccer team dominated Erskine College on Saturday (Oct. 19) evening at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field on senior day. YHC once again generated tons of pressure for the majority of the game, as they rocketed 38 shots (16 SOG) towards the Flying Fleet goalkeeper. The Mountain Lions scored two goals in each half and gave up virtually zero scoring chances to the Erskine offense. The Mountain Lions honored their eight seniors before the match began: Justice Colburn Sr., Ana Ferrante, Shania Harris, Kaylie Hayes, Morgan Kasel, Mckenna Peaster, Chloe Schmidhuber, and Vic Shanahan.

"We are excited for the win anytime; another shutout on the year as well. We tightened it up on the defensive end, which has been massive improvements in that sense. Our defenders have been doing a fantastic job. It was good to have players like Anita [Roese] stepping up, getting on the board this season as well. We have players who have a lot to offer, and they are starting to score goals at the right time." 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

• Young Harris outshot Erskine 38 (16 SOG) to one. 

• Anita Roese scored two goals on nine shots (4 SOG). 

• YHC earned 11 corner kicks compared to the Flying Fleet's one. 

• Justice Colburn Sr. and Betsy Bu scored the Mountain Lions' other two goals. 

• Kaylie Hayes spent just over 69 minutes in goal and Mckenna Peaster played for over 20 minutes to earn the Young Harris shutout. 

• Valentina Santana faced constant pressure throughout the match, and recorded 12 saves, surrendering four goals.
