Spartanburg, SC| Young Harris hit the road on Saturday to take on the Valkyries from Converse University, the Mountain Lions got off to a hot start, leading by 21 points with just under five minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter. The Valkyries battled all the way back within two points with under a minute left in regulation, but it was the Mountain Lions defense that clinched down late to seal the victory, winning 53-51.
The Mountain Lions moved up to 8-12 overall this season and 4-6 in Conference Carolinas. Converse University fell to 8-11 on the season and 4-6 in conference play. Young Harris will return to action next Saturday when they travel to Banner Elk, N.C. to play Lees-McRae College at 2 PM.
