Young Harris, GA | Young Harris College led by three players with 17 or more points each, stormed past Georgia College and State University on Saturday (Nov. 10) evening's opening game of the 2023-24 season at the Harp Recreation and Commencement Center.  

The Mountain Lions begin their campaign 1-0, while the Bobcats fall to 0-1. Young Harris continues the Peach Belt/Conference Carolinas Challenge on Saturday (Nov. 11) when they host the University of North Georgia Nighthawks at 2 p.m. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 

• Trinity Edwards dominated with 19 points, shooting 6-10 from the field and 6-7 on free throw attempts. The Mountain Lions Sr. Guard also grabbed 15 defensive rebounds. 

• Kamryn Bates shot 7-12 from the field, putting up 17 points and five assists in her Young Harris College debut. 

• Crystal Corley tallied 19 points, going 7-13 on FG and 5-7 from the free throw line in her Mountain Lions debut 

• The Mountain Lions shot 49.09 percent (27-55), while the Bobcats shot just 24.28 percent (17-70). 

• The Mountain Lions' largest lead was 21 points midway through the 3rd quarter. 

• Young Harris led for 38:24 of game time, holding the lead at the end of each quarter.
