GREENWOOD, S.C. | Young Harris College and Lander University battled to a scoreless draw in thier Peach Belt Conference men's soccer match Saturday (Sept. 17) afternoon at Van Taylor Stadium.
The Mountain Lions improved to 2-1-3 overall and to 1-0-2 in the Peach Belt, while the Bearcats fell to 3-2-3 and 2-0-1. Either Lander or YHC has won the Peach Belt regular-season title every year since 2012. Young Harris returns to action Wednesday (Sept. 21) when they host Georgia Southwestern State University at 7 p.m. at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- The Bearcats held a 9-3 edge in shots, including a 3-1 margin on goal.
- Quinn Thompson, Charlie Wilde and Edoardo Righetti each had a shot for the Mountain Lions, with Righetti's first-half attempt was on goal.
- It was the fourth clean sheet for the Mountain Lions in 2022, including the third one recorded by Henrik Timgren.
- Timgren stopped three Lander shots to recorded his second consecutive shutout.
