YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's tennis team opened up their 2022 spring schedule with a 7-0 victory over Piedmont University Sunday afternoon at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.
The Mountain Lions improved to 2-0, while the Lions fell to 0-1. Young Harris returns to action Friday (Feb. 11)Â when they travel to Jefferson City, Tennessee, for a 1 p.m. match against Carson-Newman University.
Young Harris won five of the six singles matches in straight sets.
Meghna Mallath rallied at No. 2 singles after dropping the first set 6-3. Mallath picked up a 7-6 (6) win in set two that went to a tiebreaker before claiming the win with a 12-10 decision in the super tiebreaker in set three.
