MARS HILL, N.C. | The Young Harris College women's tennis team split a pair of matches with Mars Hill University and Lees-McRae College Saturday (Oct. 8) evening.
The Mountain Lions improved to 1-2 overall after defeating Lees-McRae 4-1 and dropping a 4-3 decision to Mars Hill. Young Harris will wrap up their fall season Oct. 21-22 at the UNG Invitational in Gainesville, Georgia.
Lees-McRae took a 1-0 lead after claiming the doubles point before the Mountain Lions stormed back to take four of the singles matches.
Emily Bush,
Simone Mercier,
Louise Ratiu and
Leanna Wood all claimed wins for Young Harris.
Against Mars Hill, the Mountain Lions picked up the doubles point as the teams of
Meghna Mallath and Bush, and
Bailee Wilson and Mercier won their matches. Mercier and
Catarina Marcko Ferreira earned victories for the Mountain Lions in singles.
