YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Kennedy Harris scored with just over seven minutes remaining to give the University of South Carolina-Beaufort a 2-1 Peach Belt Conference women's soccer victory over Young Harris College Saturday (Oct. 8) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
The Sand Sharks improved to 9-3-0 overall and to 3-3-0 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions fell to 3-8-0 and 3-4-0. YHC hits the road Wednesday (Oct. 12) for a 7:30 p.m. PBC game against Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Young Harris and USC Beaufort swapped goals in the opening five minutes of the second half. Mari Kalvatn scored for the Sand Sharks, while Alexis Scarpinato scored her team-leading eighth goal for Young Harris.
- Harris scored the game winner at the 82:33 mark off a Kalvatn pass.
- Young Harris outshot USC Beaufort 12-11, including a 9-8 edge on goal.
- Havyn Isaac collected six saves in the Young Harris goal.
