MORROW, Ga. | Langston Blackstock and Isaac Pimenta each scored twice as Clayton State University picked up a 4-2 Peach Belt Conference men's soccer victory over Young Harris College Saturday (Oct. 22) afternoon at Lakers Field.
The Lakers improved to 9-4-3 overall and to 7-3-1 in the PBC, while the Mountain Lions fell to 7-5-3 and 6-4-2. Both teams earn berths to next week's PBC Tournament held on campus sites. The tournament bracket and pairings will be released Monday (Oct. 24) afternoon.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- After the Lakers took a 3-1 lead into the half, Jamie Lapsley scored for the Mountain Lions at the 61:11 mark off a pass from Pato Padilla.
- Clayton State added an insurance goal off a penalty kick, before Mikkel Goeling scored his ninth goal of the season off a Quinn Thompson free kick with less than nine minutes remaining in the match.
- Clayton State held a slim 12-10 edge on shots, including a 6-5 margin on goal.
- Stathis Paplomatos posted two saves in the YHC goal.
