GREENWOOD, S.C. | Georgia Southwestern State University recorded a 2-0 victory over Young Harris College in the second round of the Peach Belt Conference Men's Soccer Tournament Friday (Oct. 28) evening at Van Taylor Stadium.
The No. 5-seeded Hurricanes improved to 6-7-4 and will advance to face No. 1 seed and No. 17-ranked Lander University in the semifinals at 1 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 30). The fouth-seeded Mountain Lions ended their season at 7-6-3.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- The Hurricanes took a 1-0 lead at the 10:00 mark on Lucas Bedleg's eighth goal of the season and added an insurance goal from Chris Salamatou at the 60:04 mark.
- YHC outshot Georgia Southwestern State 15-13, but each team recorded seven shots on goal.
- The Mountain Lions had five corner kicks to GSW's two.
- Henrik Timgren recorded five saves in the Young Harris goal.
