AUGUSTA, Ga. | Young Harris College men's basketball player Carl Cleveland has been named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week ending Jan. 2.
Cleveland scored a career-high 31 points to go with seven rebounds as the Mountain Lions lost to Flagler College Dec. 20. The second-year freshman forward from Commerce, Georgia, shot 52 percent from the floor, including 6-of-9 three-pointers. He added two blocks, two steals and an assist. The 31 points is tied for fifth-most in the PBC this season and one of nine 30-plus point games in the conference this year. His six made three-pointers is also tied for seventh-most in the league in a single game.
Young Harris returns from the holiday break Wednesday (Jan. 5) as they host Clayton State University in a 7:30 p.m. Peach Belt game at the YHC Recreation and Fitness Center.
