YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | No. 8 Columbus State University defeated Young Harris College 3-0 in a Peach Belt women's soccer match Wednesday (Sept. 29) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.

The Cougars improved to 8-0-1 overall and 3-0-0 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions fell to 3-4-0 and 0-3-0. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (Oct. 2) night with a 7 p.m. PBC match against Georgia Southwestern State University at home. 


INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

• Columbus State scored their first goal shortly after the 10 minute mark on a Carley Canzoneri penalty kick.
• Maria Killset had two assists for the Cougars including the final goal scored by Emma Beddow at the 86th minute. 
• Pien Van Kampen recorded 11 saves in goal for the Mountain Lions.
• Young Harris had four shots on goal. Aimee Durn collected two, while Elicia Mulvaney and Cassidy Campbell each had one. 
• The Cougars edged 9-0 in corner kicks.
