HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Katie Gerber and Isadora Springer each scored five goals as the University of Alabama in Huntsville defeated Young Harris College 17-6 in the Gulf South Conference Women's Lacrosse Championship match Sunday (April 25) afternoon at Charger Park.

The Chargers end their season at 12-3, while the Mountain Lions fell to 5-8.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

• All-GSC Tournament performer Taylor Greenberg led the Mountain Lions with four goals. Greenberg became the sixth YHC player to score 100 goals in her career. The junior midfielder from Johns Creek, Georgia, is sixth on the all-time list with 102 goals.
• Kinsley Purser and All-GSC Tournament performer Aubrie Valvo each added a goal for YHC.
• Greenberg scored the final two goals of the first half as Young Harris trailed 7-5 at halftime.
• After UAH scored 41 seconds into the second half, Greenberg scored at the 27:31 mark as Young Harris closed to 8-6. However, that would be the final time the Mountain Lions found the back of the net as the Chargers scored the final nine goals.
• Belle Hardwick and Purser each tallied an assist.
• Valvo led the Mountain Lions six draw controls, while Ella Hancock added three.
• All-GSC Tournament performer Eryn Brown led YHC with four ground balls, while Valvo added three. All-GSC Tournament performer Anna Luckie and Gwenyth Gibbons corralled two ground balls each.
• UAH led YHC in shots 35-19, in draw controls 13-10 and in ground balls 25-18.
• Goalie Maddy Meyers recorded nine saves in the YHC goal.
