YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Maya Walker led Lander University with 11 kills as the Bearcats spoiled the first-ever women's volleyball match for Young Harris College Tuesday (March 9) evening at the YHC Recreation and Fitness Center. 

The Bearcats won the match by scores of 25-13, 25-13 and 26-24 and improved to 1-1 overall and to 1-1 in the Peach Belt Conference. The Mountain Lions fell to 0-1 and 0-1.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

• Hailey Hart and Annie Messler led the Mountain Lions with six kills apiece, wile Amber Cunningham had five. Jessica Beckner tallied four kills for YHC.
• Alex Boydstone paced Young Harris with 18 assists, while Kori Still had three.
• Hart led the Mountain Lions with two blocks (one solo, one assist.
• YHC rallied from five points down in the third set (20-15) and had a chance to serve for the set at 24-23, but the Bearcats won the final three points.
