Nighthawks edge Mountain Lions 1-0

DAHLONEGA, Ga. | Katey Derkay scored in the 19th minute to led the University of North Georgia past its cross-mountain rival Young Harris College 1-0 in a Peach Belt Coference women's soccer match Monday (March 8) evening at the UNG Soccer Complex.

The Nighthawks improved to 3-1-0 overall and to 3-1-0 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions fell to 2-3-0 and 2-3-0.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
  • North Georgia outshot Young Harris 14-5, including 8-1 on goal.
  • The Nighthawks held a 12-3 margin in corner kicks.
  • Alexis Scarpinato had three of the five shots for the Mountain Lions, while Hannah Behner and Morgan Kasel had one each.
