MORROW, Ga. | Audrey McElhaney led Clayton State University with 17 points as the Lakers defeated Young Harris College 73-43 in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball game Wednesday (Feb. 24) evening at The Loch.

The Lakers improved to 10-4 overall and in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions fell to 5-7 and 5-7.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

• The Mountain Lions got off to a fast start as they hit 5-of-8 three-pointers in the first quarter. YHC took a 14-6 lead after back-to-back-to-back three-pointers by Lindsey Caudell and Carly Winters with 4:02 left in the period.
• YHC struggled shooting the rest of the game. The Mountain Lions, who shot 29.2 percent (14-of-48) in the contest,  connected on six field goals in the opening 10 minutes, but only eight shots over the final 30 minutes.
• Winters led Young Harris with 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting from long distance and grabbed six rebounds.
• Niaya White also finished in double figures with 10 points and added four rebounds,
• Clayton State held a 41-25 edge in rebounding and shot 49.1 percent (27-of-55) from the floor.
• Kerry Watson (10) and Jadah Waite (10) finished in double figures for the Lakers.
