YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Carly Rigsbee drove in three runs as the fifth-ranked Young Harris College took down No. 16 University of Southern Indiana 6-4 in a non-conference softball game Sunday (Feb. 21) afternoon at the YHC Softball Field.

The Mountain Lions improved to 8-1, while the Screaming Eagles fell to 1-4.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

• Young Harris is now 2-0 against nationally ranked opposition in 2021.
• The Mountain Lions continued their recent trend of extra-base hits. Five of the seven YHC hits against the USI went for extra bases, including three long balls.
• YHC took a 1-0 lead on Rigsbee's home run to straight away center field in the fourth.
• After Southern Indiana got a run back in its half of the the fifth, the Mountain Lions broke open the game with a four-run inning. Morgan Curley gave YHC a 2-1 lead on her home run just inside the right field fair pole. Rigsbee a two-run double to left-center and Ashley Autuori added RBI double of her own.
• YHC closed out the scoring in the sixth as Katelynn Hodges led off with home run to left-center.
• The Mountain Lion pitching staff combined to strike out 12.
• Jill Dixon (2-0) scattered nine hits and struck out nine in five innings, while Sara King earned her first save with three strikeouts over two innings.
