AUGUSTA, Ga. | Young Harris College men's basketball player Karl Chavis has been named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week ending Nov. 15.

Despite the Mountain Lions dropping their two games, Chavis was simply incredible. The second-year freshman forward from Chesapeake, Virginia, averaged 26.0 points and 11.5 rebounds in two games, shooting .750 (21-of-28) from the field. He opened with 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting and eight rebounds in a loss to No. 16 Queens University of Charlotte. He followed that with 32 points and 15 boards against Lenior-Rhyne University. He hit 13-of-18 shots from the field in that game and added 4.0 assists and 1.0 blocks per game. Through the opening weekend, Chavis leads the PBC in rebounding and field goal percentage and is second in scoring.

The Mountain Lions (0-2) return to action Wednesday (Nov. 17) at 7:30 p.m. when they tip off their home schedule with a contest against Morehouse College inside the YHC Recreation and Fitness Center.
