Ellerbe scores two goals in 3-0 shutout over Albany State

ALBANY, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's soccer team shut out Albany State University 3-0 Saturday (Oct. 9) afternoon at the ASU Soccer Complex.

The Mountain Lions improved to 4-5-0 overall and 1-4-0 in the Peach Belt Conference, while the Golden Rams fell to 1-8-0 and 0-4-0.  The Mountain Lions return to action on Saturday (Oct. 16) afternoon in a 5 p.m. PBC match against Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia. 

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE: 
  • Young Harris scored all three goals in the second half. 
  • Young Harris scored its first goal off an Aimee Durn penalty kick at the 58:37 mark. 
  • Jhena Ellerbe scored the final two goals for the Mountain Lions. The first goal was assisted by Durn in the 66th minute and the last goal was scored two minutes later at the 68:03 mark and assisted by Brooke Morrison. 
  • YHC led in shots 22-7 (13-1 on goal) and had a 9-0 edge in corner kicks. 
  • Pien Van Kampen recorded the shutout with one save in net.
  • Durn recorded five shots while Ellerbe and Morrison each had four.
  • Hannah Behner, Morgan Kasel, and Jadyn Campbell collected two shots and Natisha John had one.
