GREENWOOD, S.C. | The Young Harris College women's tennis team posted 19 wins in singles and doubles play at the Bearcat Invitational Friday and Saturday (Oct. 1-2).
Louise Ratiu and
Joselyne Chapui went undefeated in doubles, and
Jing Dong went undefeated in singles.Â
The Mountain Lions return home to play Wednesday (Oct. 6) afternoon in a 1 p.m. match against Mars Hill University at the Bob and Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.Â
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Ratiu and Chapui went 4-0 in doubles play for the Mountain Lions while Dong went 3-0 in singles play.Â
- Ratiu went 3-1 in singles play defeating Sara Valentini (Limestone) 6-3 and 10-8 and Adair Still (Erskine) 6-3, 6-1.Â
- Chapui also went 3-1 in singles play. Grabbing wins over Felicitas Picinini (Limestone) 6-2 and 6-3, Holly Tucker (Limestone) 6-0 and 6-0, and Lana Vukovic (Erskine) 6-0 and 6-4.Â
- Dong recorded three wins in singles play beating Luize Valtere (Erskine) 6-2 and 6-1, and Vukovic (Erskine) 6-3 and 6-0.Â
- Yureni Gomez picked up her first collegiate wins in singles and doubles play defeating Tucker/ Madeline Turner (Limestone) 6-3, Turner (Limestone) 6-1 and 6-1, and Madison Clayton/ Katie Lowe (Erskine) 6-1.Â
- Meghna Mallath picked up two wins in singles play overcoming Tucker (Limestone) 6-1 and 6-0, and Clayton (Erskine) 6-3 and 6-2. Mallath and Gomez together picked up two wins in doubles for the Mountain Lions.Â
- Bailee Wilson recorded her first win as a Mountain Lion defeating Tucker (Limestone) 6-4 and 6-1.Â
