YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's tennis team defeated Emmanuel (Ga.) College 4-3 Wednesday (Oct. 13) afternoon at the Bob and Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex. 
 
The Mountain Lions improved to 1-0 overall, while the Lions fell to 0-1. YHC returns to action at the Eagle Invitational hosted by Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee, Oct. 22.
 
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE: 

• Jing Dong was honored prior to the match as she is graduating from YHC in December.
• After Emmanuel took the doubles point, Young Harris took a 2-1 lead after Joselyne Chapui and Yureni Gomez picked up wins in singles.
• The Lions took the next two wins in singles to take a 3-2 lead.
• Louise Ratiu won her match at No. 2 singles in straight sets to tie the match at 3.
• Meghna Mallath's 7-5, 7-5, win at No. 3 singles won the match for the Mountain Lions.
