MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Jordan Thomas scored 32 points to lead Georgia College past Young Harris College in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Monday (Jan. 18) afternoon at the Centennial Center.

The Bobcats improved to 3-2 overall and to 3-2 in Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions fell to 2-3 and 2-2.

Back-to-back jumpers from Alphonso Willis and Jacorie Archie gave the Mountain Lions a 17-15 lead midway through the first half, but the Bobcats scored eight unanswered points - five from Thomas - to open up a 23-17 lead with 6:50 remaining. Young Harris got within a point at 23-22 affer a free throw and a layup from Willis and a Karl Chavis layup with 4:17 to go.

Georgia College led 31-27 at the half and opened the the second half on a 16-5 run - including nine from Thomas - to take a 47-32 lead off two free throws from Austin Sloan with 13:57 to play. The closest the Mountain Lions would get the remainder of the way was 11 points (56-45) after Archie sank two free throws with 8:51 to go. 

Thomas led GC on 12-of-24 shooting from the floor, while Luke Chism added 10 points.

Willis led Young Harris with 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Archie added 10 points. Chavis finished with nine points and seven rebounds.
