ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. | Gedi Juozapaitis scored 35 points, including the game-winning three-pointer with five seconds remaining, to lead Flagler College past Young Harris College 101-97 in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Monday (Jan. 20) afternoon at Flagler Gym.
The Saints improved to 8-8 overall and to 4-4 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions fell to 3-13 and 1-7. Young Harris returns to the YHC Basketball Arena Wednesday (Jan. 22) for a 7:30 p.m. PBC game against Georgia Southwestern State University.
Flagler, which led for over 37 minutes in the game, took its largest lead - 12 points (69-57) -  after a Logan Swackhammer layup with 13:26 remaining.  Flagler still led by eight points (91-83) with just under four minutes remaining until the Mountain Lions put together a 14-5 run that saw Young Harris take its only lead on the game at 97-96 after 
Seth McCoy drained a three-pointer with 16 seconds to go. Juozapaitis, who scored 27 points in the second half, responded with a three-pointer with five seconds left to give the Saints a 99-97 lead. 
Young Harris had a chance to tie or take a lead on the next possession, but was called for a turnover. Juozapaitis, who went 12-of-17 from the field (9-of-13 from three-point range) sealed the win by hitting two free throws with one second to play.
Both team were sizzled shooting as Flagler shot 62.7 percent and the Mountain Lions connected on 53.1 percent. Each team was even hotter in the second half as the Saints shot 73.1 percent (19-of-26), while the Mountain Lions shot at a 61.3 percent (19-of-31) clip.
Allante Pickens added 22 points for Flagler, while Damerit Brown had 15 points. Chris Metzger contributed 13 points, while Derrick Ellis, Jr. has 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Brian Harper led the Mountain Lions with a career-high 30 points on 10-of-17 shooting, including 5-of-7 from long range. He recorded another double double as he dished out 12 assists. 
Ryle Owens added 18 points, while 
Jonathan King added 15 points and 
Jacorie Archie scored 10.  McCoy finished with nine points and a team-high six rebounds.
