YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College fell to the University of West Georgia 2-1 in a non-conference women's soccer match Thursday (Sept. 5) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
The Wolves improved to 1-0 overall, while the Mountain Lions fell to 0-1. Young Harris travels to Jefferson City, Tennessee, Sunday (Sept. 8) for a 2 p.m. matchup against No. 21 Carson-Newman University.
Aimee Durn scored her first goal in a YHC uniform in the top right of the night off an assist from
Bianey Serrano and
Juliana Alarcon to give the Mountain Lions a 1-0 lead in the 37th minute.
West Georgia tied the game at one at the 59:04 mark with a goal from Tyler Buford. The Wolves took a 2-1 lead in the 77th minute off a goal from Karley Baker that was assisted by Buford.
Jackie Donaldson recorded three saves in goal for the Wolves, while
Pien Van Kampen tallied three saves between the pipes for Young Harris.
