YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College fell to Tusculum University 2-1 in a non-conference women's soccer match Tuesday (Sept. 10) evening at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
The Pioneers improved to 1-1-0, while the Mountain Lions fell to 0-3-0. Young Harris hosts Valdosta State University in a 1 p.m. matchup Sunday (Sept. 15) at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
Juliana Alarcon scored her second goal of the season in the 25th minute from 18 yards out off a through ball from
Hannah Behner to the left corner of the net to take a 1-0 lead for the Mountain Lions.
Tusculum tied the game at the 33:35 mark after Brooke Radcliffe sent the ball to the left corner of the net from 15 yards out. Ellie Tomassoni gave the Pioneers a 2- lead in the 65th minute after her shot deflected off the post into the net.
The two teams were evenly split with 12 shots and five corner kicks apiece.
Cecilie Mortensen picked up four saves in goal for the Pioneers, while
Pien Van Kampen had four saves between the pipes for the Mountain Lions.
