MORROW, Ga. | Young Harris College fell to Clayton State University 74-57 in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball game Wednesday (Feb. 6) at The Loch.
The Lakers improved to 13-7 overall and 9-5 in the PBC, while the Mountain Lions fell to 3-18 and 1-14. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (Feb. 9) as they host Georgia Southwestern State University in a 1:30 p.m. PBC contest at the YHC Basketball Arena.
Clayton State jumped to a 12-point lead (17-5) midway through the first quarter after a free throw by Velencia Johnson. The closest Young Harris came the rest of the game would a seven point deficit (23-16) seven seconds in the second quarter.
Pamela Diokpara recorded a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Mountain Lions, while
Sarah Woghiren tallied nine points and three rebounds.
Sarah Reid totaled six points and six rebounds.
Madison Newby had 20 points and five rebounds for the Lakers, while Monica Alexander recorded 12 points and Kelsie Towns had 10 points.
